Mr Andrew Simons MBBS FRCOG trained in London at St. Marys Hospital Medical School, graduating in 1987. He trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in London at St. Mary’s Hospital, Northwick Park Hospital and Queen Charlotte’s Hospital. He did an additional two years, during his training, doing scientific research. In 1995 he became a Member of the Royal College of Obstetrician and Gynaecologists. Between 1997-99 he gained further technical expertise in Urogynaecology and minimal access surgery with a Fellowship in Sydney, Australia. Andrew was appointed a Consultant in 1999 and was invited to be a fellow of the Royal College of Obstetrician and Gynaecologists in 2009.
Mr. Andrew Simons is the most senior Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at St. Richard’s Hospital, Chichester, West Sussex, where he sees Obstetric patients, general gynaecology patients and is the lead and runs the Urogynaecology service (prolapse and urinary Incontinence). Mr. Simons works in Multi-disciplinary teams and is a recognised trainer for the future generations of Gynaecologists.
Mr. Andrew Simons has vast experience in treating a wide range of women’s health problems including abnormal periods, Urinary Incontinence, vaginal prolapse, vaginal reconstruction, pelvic pain and Menopause issues. Wherever possible Mr. Simons will offer you the most up-to-date, evidence based individualized bespoke treatment plan which will include conservative, medical and , if necessary surgical options. Mr. Simons is an advanced Laparoscopic (keyhole) surgeon so if surgery is planned then, wherever possible, keyhole surgery will be performed to reduce post-op pain and to allow a quicker recovery.
